The Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-ULisboa) is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary university institution that produces scientific knowledge on contemporary societies. ICS-ULisboa treasures the values of scientific autonomy, intellectual openness, diversity, and institutional cooperation in its three main areas of activity: 1) Research, 2) Postgraduate programmes, and 3) Outreach.
The research that ICS-ULisboa undertakes falls under the disciplinary areas of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, Human Geography, History, Social Psychology, and Sociology.
ICS-ULisboa has seven Research Groups: Environment, Territory and Society; Sociopolitical Attitudes and Behaviours; Identities, Cultures, Vulnerabilities; Empires, Colonialism and Post-Colonial Societies; Life Course, Inequality and Solidarity; Power, Society and Globalization; and Regimes and Political Institutions. Currently, the Institute has about 90 researchers and 150 postgraduate students and is engaged in 60 research projects.
In VAX-TRUST, ICS-ULisboa team is the leader of work package 7 and partner in all other work packages.
