VAX-TRUST consortium member in British House of the Lords committee on vaccination
On 16th March 2026 Professor Pru Hobson-West gave oral evidence to the House of Lords committee on vaccination chaired by Baroness Walmsley. The committee is tasked with trying to identify why uptake of recommended childhood vaccination is falling. The committee is also interested in trying to understand why there are inequalities in coverage; who is responsible and accountable for reversing the decline in coverage; whether the Government has identified the right priorities for reversing the decline in coverage; and what the key barriers are to reversing the decline in coverage and how they can be overcome.
Pru Hobson-West attended in person and gave evidence, drawing on her ongoing research, and previous work funded by an EU funded grant (‘VAX-TRUST’). Committees are public and are live streamed – please see this link for more details
The contribution to the House of Lords committee also got coverage the following day on BBC Radio 4 ‘Yesterday in Parliament’ programme on Radio 4.
